What a perfect brand new book for ANAE members! My new friend Joe Sweeney has just published a really good read, with great content and fascinating real-life stories and examples entitled: Networking Is A Contact Sport; How Staying Connected and Serving Others will Help You Grow Your Business, Expand Your Influence – Or Even Land Your Next Job. And, if you are interested in sports, you will REALLY relate to and love this book.
The mission of ANAE is “To provide educational and networking opportunities to National Account Managers, corporate account managers, and other executives that will improve their corporate strategies and eventual position in the marketplace.”
According to Gary Gustafson, President of ANAE, “The Association is designed for the healthcare executive who believes that networking is a key to understanding the industry. It is for executives who believe that networking can help facilitate positive change leading to better strategies and action plans.
Gustafson adds that, “All ANAE activities are based around networking opportunities or they create an atmosphere conducive to networking. Even the training classes at ANAE University are grounds for networking at executive levels. The ANAE Annual meeting is open to all Healthcare Executives.”
If you believe in the mission, objectives and effectiveness of ANAE, and if you want to be a more effective leader, you must read Networking Is A Contact Sport by Joe Sweeney. It is an interesting and fun read with scores of excellent, implementable concepts and strategies. Serious study of this book will assure that you have the right attitude and mental model for world-class networking and, if you take the book seriously, it will take your networking and leadership effectiveness to the next level.
After reading the book, give Joe a call or send him an email. Believe it or not, he WILL respond. I have already tested him!
Buy the book. Study it. Use it. Implement some of the suggestions most important for your work and life. You will be better for it! I guarantee it.
